Large parts of the New South Wales Mid-North Coast have been hit by once-in-100-year floods, while Sydney’s west faces the worst inundations in 50 years. Homes have been lost, businesses ruined, and communities devastated.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced today that more than 38 areas of the state are now “disaster zones”, with more than 18,000 people evacuated. Forecasters have warned that the worst may still come, with a second primary rain wave predicted across NSW tonight and tomorrow. Here are the photos that best highlight the destruction caused by the relentless rain.
Homes were also surrounded by rising floodwaters on North St, Windsor, on Monday 22 March 2021. Do you have any incredible storm pictures to share? To feature your own photos on news.com.au, you can upload them by clicking on the banner below or tag them with #newscomauphotos on Instagram.
